They’re simple, healthy, and versatile — reasons why many of us gravitate toward them to start our day, after a good yoga session, or when we’re simply craving something tasty and nutritious.

1. Peanut Butter Oatmeal Smoothie

Peanut butter paired with oats makes the best combination for a smoothie packed with protein and antioxidants, making it great for a post-workout snack or morning pick-me-up. 

Ingredients

  • ½ cup rolled or quick oats
  • 2 frozen ripe bananas (peeled before freezing)
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1-2 tbsp maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon 
  • ⅛ tsp salt

2. Coffee Banana Smoothie

This four-ingredient smoothie can be made in less than five minutes and features an underrated smoothie ingredient: coffee! This recipe isn’t too strict, leaving room for customization and exploration to find what’s right for you.

  • Frozen bananas 
  • Coffee (2 tsp of instant coffee mixed with 40ml of lukewarm water, strong brewed filter coffee, or decaf)
  • Non-dairy milk (original recipe does not recommend coconut milk since it can be too sweet!)

3. Avocado Pineapple Smoothie

Avocados are great sources of healthy fats and fiber, which is perfect if you’re looking for some additional nutritional benefits to your smoothie. The pineapples naturally sweeten the deal. 

Ingredients

  • 5 ounces light or full-fat coconut milk 
  • 6 ounces fresh pineapple chunks 
  • ½ ripe avocado 
  • 1 frozen banana (broken into large chunks)
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp hulled hemp seeds

4. Toasted Coconut Smoothie

This creamy, coconut smoothie only requires five ingredients and can easily become a go-to. 

Ingredients

  • ¼ sweetened flaked coconut (plus some for garnish)
  • 1 cup lite coconut milk 
  • 1 large frozen banana (cut into chunks)
  • 2 tbsp ground flaxseed 
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

5. Apple Cinnamon Smoothie

This smoothie has protein packed in every sip with sliced apples and cinnamon providing just the right amount of sweetness.  

Ingredient

  • 1.5 cups almond milk 
  • 2 large sliced apples 
  • ⅓ cup rolled oats 
  • 2 tbsp almond butter 
  • 2 tbsp hemp hearts 
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 Medjool date (note: remove the pit)
  • 1 tsp vanilla 
  • ¾ tsp cinnamon

6. Peach & Raspberry Mint Summer Smoothie

Although this smoothie is dedicated to summer months, it can also be enjoyed throughout the year if you’re craving a refreshing, calming smoothie. 

Ingredient 

  • 2 chopped peaches 
  • ½ cup raspberries 
  • 5 mint leaves 
  • 1 cup non-dairy yogurt 
  • Optional: a dash of milk (depending on preferred consistency)

7. Banana Mocha Smoothie

Skip the mocha frap at Starbucks and instead try this banana mocha smoothie. Combining coffee, raw cacao, and bananas, this smoothie is a delicious, healthy alternative. 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup soy milk 
  • 1-2 shots espresso or ⅓ cup of strong black coffee
  • 1 large frozen bananas 
  • 2 tbsp raw cacao powder
  • ½ tsp cardamom (optional)

8. Creamy Silken Tofu Smoothie

You won’t miss out on your daily protein goal with this creamy silken tofu smoothie. It’s sweetened with bananas and maple syrup and can be customized by adding in cocoa powder, peanut butter, veggies, or plant-based protein powder!

Ingredients

  • ½ block silken tofu (~ 6oz/170g)
  • 1 large banana (frozen preferred)
  • ½ cup ice cubes 
  • ¼ cup soy milk (or other non-dairy alternative)
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter (or nut butter of choice) 
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (or an alternative type of sweetener)
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon

9. Cucumber Pear Smoothie

This smoothie is sweet and refreshing, providing some much-needed protein and antioxidants. 

Ingredients 

  • ½ medium cucumber peeled 
  • 1 medium pear cored & chopped 
  • 1 tbsp creamy almond butter (or nut butter of choice)
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 2 cups strawberries (fresh or frozen)
